The installation of aggregates, stone, sand or solid waste using heavy earth moving equipment on the surface of the geomembrane is the #1 cause of damage. The Leak Location Survey electrical hand held probe specified in ASTM standard D-7007 is the most efficient method to locate the holes in the damaged geomembrane. When a DC current is initiated across the geomembrane the Leak Location Survey hand held probe will measure the potential gradient on top of the cover layer. It is important that this cover layer have moisture present for best results. The advantages of this method provides the owner the opportunity to test the integrity of the geomembrane liner after the liner has been in contact with the loading of the aggregate surface materials and the construction
